The last years several kinds of applications for computer scrapping has become for sale in the shops. You should use a lots of software programs for this purpose. A lot of scrappers choose applications such as Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. The drawback with these applications for many individuals is the price, photoshop will cost you hundreds of dollars, and a application as advanced as this one has a very high learning curve. Recently I’ve written a My Memories Suite Review on my blog, and the application is both cheap and very simple to understand. Even though this doesn’t have all the advanced features as Photoshop, it’s great for most digital scrapbookers.
When you first open the My Memories Suite, you will observe a left and a right sidebar and the work area between the two. And additionally we have a tool bar at the top. At the first glanze they seem very similar, but they do have different possibilities. You use the left sidebar to browse your photos and to access the web store to buy new kits. The right sidebar is the control panel. Although you may can add both photos and elements from both sidebars, the right one is where you can add effects such as shadows, bevels and even music!
My Memories Suite lets you be as creative as you want to be. You may put a lot of work into each page if you want. Add a lot of details, make a great title and layer your papers. Or you can do it the speedy way. Pick a predesigned album and autofill it with your photos. The last option is really great. And even though you use autofill, you’ll be able to adjust the pages to your liking afterwards, before you order your printed book. My Memories Suite even has a a spelling checker included, which is a very handy feature. It is so frustrating when you have spent lots of time creating your book, and it comes back from the printer with spelling blunders you overlooked.
Sometimes I am a little narrow minded. I recall reading a review of another scrapbook software in Macworld a while ago. And the one who wrote this review listed positives and negatives, and one of the drawbacks was that he couldn’t add music to the pages. And I thought….hellooo….we make scrapbooks, we don’t expect to hear Holiday with Scorpions once we open our vacation scrapbook.
The possibility to add music and video can obviously not be add to a printed book of paper, but what My Memories Suite can do for you is create a dvd that includes music tracks and video snippets. I actually think this is a really cool thing. Instead of sending your scrapbook around the table when you have a family gathering, you could put the dvd in your player and flip through a virtual book on your tv for everyone to see at the same time. If you are still not convinced that My Memories Suite is for you, or still to expensive, then do a google search for a My Memories Suite Coupon. It should be pretty easy to find!
