Just about every week I get e-mails coming from people looking for an alternative choice to Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, wanting something cheaper and easier to work with. The right sidebar is the control panel. Even though you can include both pictures and elements from both sidebars, the right one is where you may add effects such as shadows, bevels and even music!
My Memories Suite lets you be as innovative as you would like to be. You may put a lot of work into each page if you’d like. Add a lot of details, make the perfect title and layer your papers. Or you can do it the quick way. Pick a ready made album and autofill it with your photographs. The last option is really very good. And even though you make use of autofill, you can adjust the pages the way you like afterwards, before you order your printed photobook. My Memories Suite even has a spell checker included, and that is a very handy feature. It is so frustrating when you have spent lots of time creating your book, and it comes back from the printer with spelling blunders you missed.
Occasionally I’m a little narrow minded. I remember reading an overview of another scrapbook software in Macworld not long ago. And the one who wrote this review listed pros and cons, and one of the cons was that he couldn’t add music to the pages. And I thought….hellooo….we make scrapbooks, we don’t expect to hear Holiday with Scorpions once we open our family vacation scrapbook.
Well, actually this is a really cool function. Rather than sending your album around for everyone to admire after a family dinner, you could just put a dvd in your player and show the whole book on your big flatscreen tv for everyone to see. With My Memories suite you can do all this. You can have a dvd ordered with your printed scrapbook if you like AND you can include video snippets inside the scrapbook pages, and also music.
