Many of us want to try internet scrapbooking, but find software such as Adobe photoshop or perhaps Adobe photoshop elements to difficult to learn. A lot of these software usually are sometimes pretty high priced. A good alternative is offered, My Memories Suite. I actually received access to this excellent software a week ago, and here is my own My Memories Suite Review. When I opened the software for the first time, I got a little confused. However I really created the very first page layout within an hour or so without the need to check out the handbook. My Memories Suite is really that simple to use.
The thing that confused me a little bit when I opened this software was the menus. You have one sidebar on each side of the work area as well as an icon bar over it. From the first glance, they appear doing precisely the same. You can insert pictures and embellishments by all three of them. Although the left sidebar is more similar to a browser, while the control panel sidebar on the right side lets you modify everything. Like shadows, adding music, compose videos etc. The left sidebar is great for browsing your pictures.
My Memories Suite lets you be as artistic as you wish to be. You can put a whole lot of work into each page if you’d like. Add a lot of details, make a great title and layer your papers. Or it is possible to do it the fast way. Pick a predesigned album and autofill it with your photos. The last option is really very good. And even if you use autofill, it is possible to modify the pages to your liking afterwards, before you order your printed photobook. My Memories Suite even has a a spelling checker included, and that is a very handy feature. It is so annoying when you have spent lots of time creating your book, and it comes back from the printer with spelling errors you overlooked.
Sometimes I’m a little narrow minded. I remember reading an overview of another scrapbook software in Macworld a while ago. And the one who wrote this review listed advantages and disadvantages, and one of the drawbacks was that he couldn’t add music to the pages. And I thought….hellooo….we make scrapbooks, we don’t expect to hear Holiday with Scorpions once we open our family vacation scrapbook.
I think the idea of adding music and video to a virtual scrapbook is an excellent idea. When you have family and friends visiting, you will not have to send your printed scrapbook around the table. Instead you can put a dvd in your player and you can all see the virtual scrapbook on your tv. Have you decided to buy the program yet?
