Just about weekly I receive e-mails from people seeking an alternative choice to Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, wanting something less expensive and much easier to use. My Memories Suite might be exactly what you would like. I have been doing a My Memories Suite Review the last week. It does not have the same learning curve as Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. Let me admit that I was a little confused the first time I opened the program, but I created the first layout within just 1 hour, even though I never used My Memories suite before. It truly is so simple to use.
What overwhelmed me a little when I started out with the program was the menus. You have one sidebar on each side of the workspace as well as an icon bar above it. From the first look, they seem doing exactly the same. You can add images and elements from all 3 of them. However the left sidebar is more similar to a browser, while the control panel sidebar on the right side lets you customize everything. Like shadows, including music, compose videos etc. The left sidebar is perfect for searching your images.
My Memories Suite lets you be as innovative as you wish to be. You may put a whole lot of work into each page if you’d like. Add a lot of details, make a great title and layer your papers. Or you may do it the quick way. Pick a premade album and autofill it with your photographs. The last option is really pretty good. And whether or not you use autofill, you can modify the pages to your liking afterwards, before you order your printed photobook. My Memories Suite even has a dictionary with spell checker included, and that is a very handy feature. It is so annoying when you have spent lots of time creating your book, and it comes back from the printer with spelling mistakes you missed.
Sometimes I’m a little narrow minded. I remember reading an overview of another scrapbook software in Macworld a while ago. And the one who wrote this review listed pros and cons, and one of the negatives was that he couldn’t add music to the pages. And I thought….hellooo….we make scrapbooks, we don’t expect to hear Holiday with Scorpions once we open our vacation scrapbook.
The possibility to add music and video can obviously not be add to a printed book of paper, but what My Memories Suite can do for you is create a dvd that includes music tracks and video snippets. I actually think this is a really cool thing. Instead of sending your scrapbook around the table when you have a family gathering, you could put the dvd in your player and flip through a virtual book on your tv for everyone to see at the same time. If you are still not convinced that My Memories Suite is for you, or still to expensive, then do a google search for a My Memories Suite Coupon. It should be pretty easy to find!
