The world of scrapbooking has certainly changed over the years. It is a world of digital scrapbooking now! What used to take hours of time, collecting, cutting, pasting, and arranging is now as easy as the click of a mouse. Of course, if you want to have a copy to look at or show others, the images can be printed on your printer, but it’s just as easy to get a digital scrapbook online and share it with your friends and family without all of the time consuming cutting and pasting. In addition, the tedious chore of arranging everything only to find that you have too much white space is eliminated.
With digital cameras being a part of nearly every household, it doesn’t make sense to take photos and pay to have them printed when you can print them on your own printer with a photo printer on photo paper. Different layouts on scrapbooking sites allow you to arrange your photos within a layout and then print them out for placement in a scrapbook if you so desire. You may also choose to save the files and keep them on your computer so that you can share them with family and friends.
You can choose layouts for your scrapbook from thousands of different pages on many different sites. Unlike the scrapbooks of years gone by that had nothing more than cream-colored pages, you can print out beautiful looking pages that you will be proud to display. Ah, what about those postcards you saved and the ticket stubs? You can add those later or you can scan them onto your computer and add them just like you do the photos. However, with the software to accommodate digital scrapbooking, it is much nicer and easier to manage than scrapbooks from days gone by, scrapbooks that used to fall apart or have sections that would rip and become lost forever.
If you look at different scrapbook websites, you will see a variety of different layouts that you can use to make your scrapbook impressive or to display images in a colorful or playful way. Since your scrapbook is comprised of images you have on your computer already, it is optional for you to print your scrapbook. By keeping it on your computer, you are able to share pages with others or view your pages online instead of having to page through a big book. There may, of course, be some things that you will still need to keep in a regular scrapbook, especially if you are a collector of napkins, ticket stubs, and other memorabilia from places you go, but for the most part, your images will be on your computer.
Digital scrapbooking has software that you must purchase with various layouts for your scrapbook collection, but some scrapbooking websites offer downloadable software if you choose to use that instead.
Digital Scrapbooking is fun and easy. There are so many different choices and so many layouts from which to choose. It’s safe to say, the age of the plain cream-colored background pages have been replaced, and digital scrapbooking pages are one of the many choices for many happy scrappers.
