And at the first look, they appear doing exactly the same. You can add photos and elements from all three of them. Although the left sidebar is more similar to a browser, whilst the control panel sidebar on the right side allows you to modify every little thing. Like shadows, including music, compose videos etc. The left sidebar is perfect for searching your photos.
My Memories Suite lets you be as innovative as you would like to be. You can put a lot of work into each page if you want. Add a lot of details, make a great title and layer your papers. Or it is possible to do it the fast way. Pick a ready made album and autofill it with your pictures. The last option is really very good. And even though you make use of autofill, it is possible to modify the pages to your liking afterwards, before you order your printed photobook. My Memories Suite even has a spell checker included, and that is a very handy feature. It is so frustrating when you have spent lots of time making your book, and it comes back from the printer with spelling errors you overlooked.
Occasionally I am a little narrow minded. I remember reading a review of another scrapbook software in Macworld not long ago. And the one who wrote this review listed advantages and disadvantages, and one of the drawbacks was that he couldn’t add music to the pages. And I thought….hellooo….we make scrapbooks, we don’t expect to hear Holiday with Scorpions when we open our vacation scrapbook.
The possibility to add music and video can obviously not be add to a printed book of paper, but what My Memories Suite can do for you is create a dvd that includes music tracks and video snippets. I actually think this is a really cool thing. Instead of sending your scrapbook around the table when you have a family gathering, you could put the dvd in your player and flip through a virtual book on your tv for everyone to see at the same time.
