Catherine David Creates Stunning NZ Design Products From Aotearoa
Catherine David graduated with an honours degree in Architecture from Auckland Varsity in 1992. In 2009 she graduated with a Masters in “Museums and Cultural Heritage” – a curating degree.
Catherine David started her NZ design career with a selection of soft furniture and bed linen. A collection of this range has been archived by the Auckland War Commemorative Museum, New Zealand. Catherine David NZ Design Limited now designs and manufactures a selection of functional homeware products which are distributed all though New Zealand and worldwide. The range covers a multitude of materials and functions.

* First design range – bed linen and soft furniture – combined a striking, clean-cut approach to bedroom style with an inexpensive high quality of materials and manufacture and became immediately favored by the market.
* Selections of Catherines original collection were archived by the Auckland Museum when other makers were noted to have adopted this new style.
* Catherines brand – Catherine David Designs remains a NZ design leader with an expanding variety of products which now include lamps, light fittings, tableware and stationery, always attention-grabbing in their originality and show.
* The shower curtain range won the New Zealand Home and Entertaining Award in 2005 for best rest room design product.
* Catherine David has just completed post graduate studies achieving a Masters in a curating degree.
In her free time Catherine David is concerned in the art of Icon writing with a Russian art teacher.
